Re: Gratitude posts

Hi@peace

I'm so glad to hear you have a lovely neighbour!

I know this feeling. Be patient, in time you will see something. She may need something which is easy for you to find or give. That is the gift of giving. In the meantime tell her in person or with a card how grateful you are.

Kind regards,

Krisitn

Re: Gratitude posts

Another gem of a lunchbox note/quote from my beautiful big girl for my beautiful little girl:

The love in our family flows strong and deep, leaving us memories to treasure and keep.

I am SO grateful that this is her experience, in spite of all the difficulties. It certainly wasn't mine - by her age I knew my family was poisonous.

Heart

Kristin

Re: Gratitude posts

I am so grateful for the kindness of both friends and strangers today.

I had several friends send me loving and supportive texts as I waited out the hours at the magistrate's court waiting for my daughter's IVO hearing.

I had a panic attack in the shopping center across the road at lunchtime, the staff at the cafe (where I'd never been before) were really lovely.

My best friend came and supported me at lunchtime, including helping to contact another mum from school once I knew that I wouldn't be back for school pick-up - as my phone battery went flat and I was so panicked I couldn't even write an email to the school prinicpal (and my auto correct on the spellling was making up the most bizarre words!)

Re: Gratitude posts

I am so grateful for the relationship I have with my best friend. Sometimes we get it wrong, but we can both say so/hear this and the friendship is strengthened in the long term. She said some very hurtful things in an email (from the midst of her own overwhelm) in trying to be helpful at a really difficult time for me - immediately after my 2.5 hour statement to SOCA last week. We were able to talk about it the following day, and last night she rang and apologised for both the timing and for not "getting it" how much I was struggling with and how incredibly complex it is to deal with.

Also grateful for another gem of a lunchbox note from my big girl to my little girl:

"Being a family means you are part of something very wonderful. It means you will love and be loved for the rest of your life. No matter what!"

(This comes in part from our favourite story Koala Lou* by Mem Fox - "Koala Lou I do love you! I always have and I always will. No matter what!" We have quite a lot of family nicknames, one lot of them is my big girl is Koala Lou and my little is Koala Two.)

*@Tatsinda @sara @Uggbootdiva @Alessandra1992 I highly recommend it if you haven't got this book, very reassuring in the midst of life's sometimes overwhelming waves to read this to your kids and affirm your love for them. Other books I find helpful for this are Bob Graham's Spirit of Hope and a book called Love You Forever by Robert Musch. They all tend to make me cry or get teary but that's ok!

I am Grateful for feeling good today

Re: Gratitude posts

Not sure I have done this right
I’m grateful for
1) My mum’s dog who is staying with me on an extended holiday
2) Cooking and being able to eat it
3) An anxiety free day

Re: Gratitude posts

I am grateful for Quentin Blake, a children's illustrator who has illustrated my life and now my children's! Firstly with Roald Dahl books and Grimble, and now with David Walliams' children's books...a touch of anarchy and whimsy...he gets better with age, he must be 80 now..
I am grateful that I can read or listen to books..life slows down when absorbed in a book..
