Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing

My dearest @Sans911

Sounds like your appointment included lots of emotions. I am glad they gave you that time to cry and didn't rush you out.

I am glad you have found a psych but to wait till March will of course be difficult. It is so hard to find help and when we do the wait list seems super long.

My thoughts are with you hun and will be here with you throughout all of this.

I don't pretend to know how difficult it has been for you, but am here for you sis.

Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing

Hey @Sans911, I can feel your pain and frustration Heart

It really isn't good enough that there are such long wait periods to be able to access the mental health services we need. My last clinical psychologist also had an initial wait period of about 3 months. I'm hoping for a world where there's significantly more funding and resources available for us - and soon 💐

It really shows your resilience that you're trying to hold onto hope, even when it's really hard. I hope things are able to get better for you soon; you deserve nothing less. Myself and the community are sitting here with you throughout this Heart

Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing

My dear @Sans911 ... great to hear from you, and thank you for the update.

It sounds as though your physical health is ticking along quite well overall ... thats a big tick in the box.

Your mental health however, clearly leaves a lot to be desired, and is a definite concern.

Treading water for long periods of time is exhausting ... especially when you cannot see an end to it ... no obvious port in a long and turbulent storm.  Continued lack of sleep also takes a heavy toll.  I really do feel for you right now, and believe I have an understanding of where you're at with all that.  Good on you for taking things easy this time post surgery, it is important to allow the body to heal.  Glad to hear you have managed to secure a clinical psych who will invoice NDIS direct.  Quite a find, from what I can gather.  Having to wait until early March is NOT good however.  Still 2.5 months away.  I hope the short term counselling from mid January is a helpful stop-gap.  Mid January is not that far away in fact, with Xmas and New Year the time will fly.  I'm happy to hear that you will be spending time with your foster family over Christmas.  I too hope that it proves to be a salve for you. Wouldnt that be nice ... for all of us here to one day be okay again?  A great dream to have, and one which is achievable.  So keep your head above water by treading water for a while longer. You can and will turn things around for the better.  Sending you a warm gentle embrace ... from one still sore person to another.  And a stack of love and well wishes.

Thank you also to @Eve7 @Emelia8 @outlander @Snowie @Anastasia @Former-Member

Its been another difficult day. Went for a check up with my gp, but as I was leaving home I felt quite unwell and wobbly. So I was there for a while too. And broke down in front of her also.

I've graduallygot better as the day went on.II caught up with a friend for coffee this afternoon at a nearby Cafe. We witnessed a nasty acciden, but there were no serious injurie, jjust aa couple of shocked mummas. There were other nurses in the café too so more than enough care to go around

I'm just chilling with my fur baby outside. Going to sort some dinner now

Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing

Hugs and love @Sans911 im sorry about witnessing the accident and about being wobbly and unwell too at your gp. Do you know what caused that?

Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing

My stupid fat fingers on the last post! What a mess!

No worries about the accident @outlander. It felt good to be useful.

My gp wasn't sure. Likely a combination of factors.
