Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing

I am glad you enjoyed the op shop @Sans911 .  Distraction and respite are quite powerful tools.

Shame about the pre-teens, and the coffee shop staff not supporting you re the music ..... I hope the days was successful though, and your guests promote your workshop.  It’s a lovely idea.

Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing

My thoughts were that if they're friends, they could stay back after, have a coffee and a good chat. But I had to keep asking them for their attention. I wouldn't ever be so disrespectful to a guest speaker who's made the time and effort to teach you. Even if I had a friend with me, whatever they had to say would have to wait.

Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing

aww thank you for rewriting it @Sans911 Heart

i feel abit frustrated for you with the luck your having with others atm. I find it quite rude that the ladies that you know were more talking amongst themselves rather than actually listening to you. Kids unfortunatly can get bored easily however it doesnt give them the excuse to mock etc (if i was there i probably wouldve told them to shut it lol) im really glad you had some nice ladies there though and i hope they got something out of the session. Can i ask what you allowed them to make?

Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing

I agree with you totally @Sans911 - distinct lack of respect shown by them Smiley Sad

Was it better at the op shop?

Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing

This wasn't the place I normally use @Faith-and-Hope. I certainly won't use it again. I also have another alternative quiet place I forget about until late in the week. So I have some other options for next time. I only do this workshop once every three months a the seasons change.

Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing

Yes @Zoe7. The op shop was lovely today. Not a lot of donations, and a steady flow of customers through the afternoon. I'm in charge their on Saturday afternoons so it's nice that I am considered responsible. I don't like doing the daily takings though. I always have a fear of messing it up or being robbed.

Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing

im glad your time at the op shop was nice too @Sans911

Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing

Part of the day was nice for you then @Sans911 I have no doubt you are responsible enough not to mess up the takings but I hear your fear about being robbed - not nice to have to think about but it is a sad indictment on society that iit is possible. You do such wonderful work in the community Hon - I think it is amazing how much you give to others - a great example to all of us here that even with a MI it is possible to give back to others.

Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing

@outlander - one lady has severe anxiety and panic attacks. I think she used Chamomile, Ylang Ylang and something else I can't remember. She used a roll on bottle. She loved it. And the other lady made a recipe for flaky, dry skin. I think it also had chamomile, (mmm... Can't remember). Sorry. I have lots of 'recipe' books of oil blend but I also know how to blend oils to get the most out of them. So if you want something for a certain issue, just ask me, and I can tell you the oils to use, how much etc

The young girls made a hand and foot cream, and the chatty women made a lip balm and hand lotion.
