Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing

It happens @Zoe7. We all do it. I’m actually grateful for your comment because I realised I’d departed from the topic and talked all about me instead 😳:face_with_rolling_eyes:😬

Well I’ll now I do have to go before it gets too dark or cold. Dog is impatient. 🐕

@Snowie I missed most of the football - fell asleep - oh well - must have needed it!

How are you going this afternoon?

Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing

@Zoe7ok, been nodding on and off on the couch too!

Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing

Thanks for asking @Snowie

I actually missed a 3pm rehearsal. Disgraceful Apple!  I had a big day in town yesterday, could not settle til late and must have needed the sleep today.  Better get offline soon and do music at home to catch up.  I have house to myself which is nice. I can put heater up.

Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing

I just had a good chat with my sensible, logical brother. Seems like if I want to preserve the relationship with my mother, I just got to suck this one up too. I'm just really tired of having to be the bigger, better person, the strong one, the unemotional, detached one on the surface who's only tears are in private. Who's pain runs deeper than even I can understand, that I doubt will ever be healed while this relationship

is the way it is.

@Sans911

We were separated from our mothers at approximately the same age.  I dont know what the circs of your mother were, and I cant say how things will progress for you.  I only shared my experience as a partial caution. I kept hoping, while others were telling me my mother would not change.  I was in my 50s before I could face it and just had to manage my feelings about it all.  The thing is that once. I accepted in my mind, that she was not and never going to be the mum I needed, I did begin to settle internally.  I was more business like in my dealings with her and my endless yearning gradually calmed down.

DO what you have to do.

 @Sans911

you can only do what is right for you. Sometimes that means holding on and sometimes it’s letting go and the only person who knows what is right for this moment in time is you. It might sound like I have a hidden judgement in this but I really don’t. I just want what is best for you. 💜🤗

Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing

@AppleblossomI'm sure misssing one rehearsal is ok, but lovely that you have got time to practice.

@Sans911, I agree with @Appleblossom, do what you need to do.

I would say do what is right for you, but I know how many times I have had to do what was right to keep the peace with my mother.

Family is such a complicated mess at times.
