Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing

Just read about the Blue Tree project @Sans911 such a tragedy and a sad indictment on our healthcare system that someone seeking help was discharge when they most needed help. Unfortunately it is not an isolated incident and having that awareness in any form (ie blue trees) is a reminder to us all that holding out the hand of help and support can actually save a life.

Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing

It's bad enough that a broken system can't help broken minds @Zoe7. The project has really taken off much like the semi colon project. So I just hope that it doesn't loose its specialness (which the sc did) and get buried by its bigness. Much like the Lived Experience is becoming lost and devalued.

I totally agree on all counts @Sans911 Smiley Sad

I think this is safe to put here. It's my car set up for sleeping 😴 tonightIMG-20191227-WA0000.jpeg

Longer days drive today but weather was much cooler and for this time of year the roads were very quiet. I've stopped overnight in a caravan park. Tommorow isn't a long drive to my final destination but there is more to see so should be interesting.

My pain isn't too bad. It's in two places but the skin graft on my thigh hurts the most. I usually keep it moistured but haven't been able to do as much. So it hurts more when it dries out. I'll probably take some pain meds tonight as they'll help me sleep.

Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing

It actually looks quite cosy @Sans911 👍 Glad also it is a shorter drive for you tomorrow - it will be great to hear you are at your destination safely Hon Heart

Pain meds and sleep sound like a good idea too - rest up Hon and look after yourself Heart

Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing

Im glad your pains abit better @Sans911 but pain relief sounds good if you need. Maybe grab a moisturiser along the way if you remember it....?

Look quite cozy in your car, hopefully you can get some decent rest esp with the cooler weather.
Will you be staying in a hotel or something for the rest of your holidays rather then your car?

Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing

The car is very temporary lol @outlander. It's because I messed up my accommodation booking. I'm staying in a self contained cabin from Monday night to Saturday morning. It's in a farmstay with animals! I'm too old to camp out or stay in cars. I'm already stiff today from driving. I could be worse by morning.

I've got moisturiser cream with me-I keep it cold. I just can't apply it as frequently as I normally do.

I'm relaxing reading a book atm. It's lovely and peaceful here but the main road is very close.

Do you want to talk about anything or would you like me to come sit with you?

Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing

The cabin with animals sounds really cool. Enjoy! @Sans911
Sounds loveley and peaceful where you are. Reading a books a nice way to end the day. I need to find a new book to read.

I dont know, i thought i did but i dont know now. Im still at mums and the kids still up. Theyre getting ready to head to bed now though thankfully. Im here till about 1130 tonight.

Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing

I usually read lots of books, so I've brought along my library stash to try to get through. Plus some DVDs as well. I plan to relax as much as explore. I'll see which one happens more. I don't have set plans but I do have lots of time to see things.
