Re: Night Shift

Can't get off couch.. ended up opening up grinder, see if can re-grease it tmw

Re: Night Shift

ok so not the app then @plasmo ?

i even got bushes for one cos had to spin disk to get it going. took it apart , they were fine, ugh. prob still got them somewhere. would never find tho

Graphite grease ?

Re: Night Shift

Hehe no not the app.. eventually got the disc off then opened it up, the gears don't look too bad, only slight damage but it spins and skips.

Think I didn't have the motor gear on it properly, think it was vibrating like crazy and slipped out and threw grease. Will see if I can get it to spin then I'll get proper grease, only have general stuff, not hi temp.

Re: Night Shift

Angle grinders require a high-temperature, extreme-pressure (EP) lithium soap grease with an NLGI #2 rating or a semi-fluid #00 grade grease. This formulation withstands intense friction, resists melting under high operating temperatures, and stays on the spinning gears rather than flinging off.Top RecommendationsLithium Complex Grease: The most common factory standard. Look for options like the Anglomoil Inplex 2163-220 or standard industrial lithium formulations.Moly Grease (Molybdenum Disulfide): Excellent for heavy-duty shock loading. A product like Penrite Molygrease EP 3% is a great choice for long-lasting gearbox protection.Semi-Fluid Grease: Often used in factory builds. If your grinder requires this specific consistency, semi-fluid corn head grease is a popular DIY

i dont think would need much @plasmo  have you tried the motor to see if any play in shaft /whether its mounted properly?  can get cheap low power ones that were industry standard 30 years ago. may just take a bit longer onsomethings. not for home stuff tho, less pwoer prob better.

google 'cheap angle grinder '  some as low as $30-$50 new 900w min probs better they all work , hey , not much to them re cheap ones, be ok for home if dont start fab shop thinkbunnings still does unlimited returns on ozitos
