Mazamorra Morada is a typical Limeรฑan dessert. Made from Peru's unique purple corn which gives Mazamorra Morada not only its color but also its unique flavor, it's like a thick jelly with lots of different fresh and dried fruits.
We could have this with your yoghurt @MDT

@eth, you are doing some brilliant Peruvian dishes this feast! I nominate you head chef!
@CheerBear, what did you have for dinner?
@MDT, hope Le Tour continues to hold your fascination. Hard day here (if you can call being in bed all day hard), but feeling a bit better this evening.
@Former-Member, the full moon looked great in the sky tonight, whether behind clouds or clearly in view. I love the moon.

Haven't been to Friday Feast in ages, and couldn't think of what to bring.
Ice cream sandwich anyone?

Hi all, brief stop in.
I'd be curious to try cuy. I don't suppose it would be very different to rabbit- sort of the "quail" version of.
But for now I'll settle with this rather interesting sounding Peruvian dessert. Enjoy, all.
King Kong de Manjor Blanco โ A Cookie Dessert
What is it: Rectangular cookies with layers made of fruits, flour, and nuts, it originated in the Lambayeque region of the northern coast of Peru. Initially having a round shape, it was known as Alfajor de Trujillo. During 1933, when the movie King Kong was released, many found similarities between the imaginary animal and the shape of the sweet in terms of its shape, hence it got the name โKing Kongโ.
What does it taste like: The cookie is complemented by caramel custard, Peruvian blancmange, peanuts, and fruit marmalade.

I used to love chocolate flavoured jelly babies, @CheerBear. I'd probably still like them now! That and black wild berry lollies.
Dinner was half a toastie with leftover shepherd's pie in it. I'm about to have a tub of strawberry greek yoghurt, inspired by @MDT.
@Smc, love the look of that, I'd definitely try it!

@Mazarita I'm inspired enough to try some of these recipes irl - one of these days.
Saying goodnight to everyone now - time to get some sleep before a very early start to see the lunar eclipse.
