My mother has driven many, many times over the years. She frequently moved states between WA & SA. I've travelled as a young child with her several times. Back then, much of the Nullarbor trip was gravel and dirt roads.
It's quite a trip to undertake @Snowie
Much of it is pretty boring as there's nothing to see but Plains of nothingness. So it can be very dangerous driving at times when you are trying to concentrate. And you need to be careful that you have enough fuel between service stations because they are hundreds of kms apart.
Hi lil Sis @outlander
I saw you coming

I guess with both of you going then you can share the driving. I am sure on a trip like that, that fatigue can be high. We be waiting to hear that you got there safely!
We have most family in VIC but some in Adelaide too. Not that we get over to see them that often. Might need to do a road trip we need to do since the kids haven't been to Adelaide yet.
I remember when we were little @Sans911. My mum and dad used to put a mattress in the back of the old station wagon and we would sleep there whilst they drove through the night to get to Adelaide. Gone are those days of not wearing a seat belt!!
Have taken my night meds too hun in case I drop out.

@Snowie Just picked up the news that you have a place in hospital. I hope you are settling in Hon and the med change works for you - will be thinking of you
