Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing

Afternoon lil Sis @outlander @Snowie @Shaz51 @Zoe7 and anyone else passing through

It's been the hardest thing to do in the last few days - say Happy New Year. Because I'm not happy, my life hasn't changed drastically just because it's another year and I can't look too far forward in case it all goes wrong. I want this year to be better than last, but there's still a large part of me doesn't feel like living is worthwhile. Idk.

I'm just going to see a movie. Catch up with later

Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing

The reality is that each new day is just another day and NYE/the new year is just that @Sans911 For some it is the opportunity to think about the upcoming year, make plans, set goals and look ahead to what possibilties may present themselves but that is entirely an individual choice. I tend not to make any of those plans past what I can achieve in the short term because we do not know what is going to be presented to us or what in fact the future holds.

Being stuck in that perpetual 'nothingness' and questioning the value and worth of living life can be even more overwhelming at this time of year. What I can say is that you are very much valued here - your wisdom, your compassion, your passion, your struggles and your strength inspire others. You continually do things to benefit others in the things you organise, your volunteer work and your words here. You also have taken on the massive task of studying again in this last year and whilst it has been extremely difficult for you at times - you persisted and came through the other side. I admire all those qualities in you and this world is a better place with you in it Heart

Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing

it really is just another day sis @Sans911 don't let it stop you from enjoying your holiday Heart

Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing

Happy New Year to you @Sans911 , i want to send you wishes for a new year. I don’t feel that happy yet either. That was a pretty cool post regarding the new year. It was a timely post for me to read. How are you?

Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing

@Sans911 what did you get up to today?

Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing

Are the fires affecting you @outlander? It's just beyond awful. It's a cruel world we live in sometimes.

I've had a very slow couple of days. That's why I've not shared anything. Yesterday I spent the entire day inside the cabin. I watched some DVDs, watched TV, did some colouring.

Today I drove down to the town. I browsed in some shops and bought a nice top. Then I had lunch, browsed some more (no buying, don't have a lot of money) and went to see a movie. I came back to the accommodation and cooked myself a decent meal.

Tommorow morning I'm catching up with an old friend that I know from when I worked in the middle east. I've not seen her in 10 years! She is originally from NZ and came here on a work contract. Apparently she loved it so much she stayed. I'm anxious to see her but keen as well.

I hope you are doing as well as you can. I miss not being able to chat to you like we do.

I'll be home in a few days though. Not long now

Thinking of you too @Snowie @Zoe7 @Shaz51 @Teej (thanks for your response)

Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing

The fires arent affecting us atm thankfully however we have 2 major fires within 70ks of us. One seems to be fairly controlled which is abit of relief but the other one is sending out entire area evacuation calls esp since saturday is suppose to a catastrophic day for fires. Victoria border and into that state has some awful fires too. We have some rain forecast for next week, im hoping itll be enough to help with these fires but have to get past saturday first. My hopes are that its not going to be as bad as expected.

Your days seem easy going and environment seems quite relaxing. Itm sure its a nice change of pace. Browsing is good, i often browse in shops too. Theres no harm in just looking.

Were you nursing in the middle east or doing different work then? Seems like good timing to be on that holiday! Totally understandable that youd be nervous about seeing her but i hope those nerves quickly fade after the initial hello stage. Looking forward to an update when your able to.

Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing

Hi @outlander @Sans911 @Teej @Shaz51 @Zoe7 and anyone else. Sans glad you are having a good time. I hope catching up with your friend goes well. Outlawed, hopefully the fires don't come any closer.

We are having a good time. Been very hot and about 45 here again today. Spending lots of time in the water for some relief from the heat. Kids are loving it so is so worth it. Still have awhile to go, not back till the 11th.

Love and hugs to all, especially those who need it. Will try to check in again soon

💜💜💜

Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing

@Snowie - did you read back on your post lol? ! Outlawed!! I know you meant @outlander. You gave me a giggle at least. I'm glad you have managed to get away for a while and having good times.

It's my last day here as I have to head for home in the morning. It'll be about 4-5 hours to my uncle's town then about 3 hours on Sunday to home. I'm a little sad to leave but I miss my home environment so I know it's time to go. I don't have much money either so I've been quite stressed each day about spending anything.

Take care sweetie. It's good to hear from you when you can

Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing
